About School
APS Ahmedabad an English medium Co – educational school , was established in July 1992 with a strength of 245 students from classes I to VIII . Earlier the school was functioning from the building which is presently run by Army Pre – Primary School. As the strength of students and staff increased, the school was shifted to the present location . i.e camp Hanuman , in 1992 with ample open space where students can interact with nature.Class X was added in the session 1994 – 95 while class XII ( Science ) in the session 1998 – 99 commerce stream for class XI commenced with effect from the academic session 2008 – 09 and humanities stream started from session i.e. 2012-13. The school managed and administered by school administration and management committee.
APS , Ahmedabad aims to be an institution to prepare yearning minds to act as responsible leaders with a sense of integrity and honesty providing opportunities of successful learning and growth . Besides encouraging academic excellence, the students are stimulated to develop their creative talents . The school endeavors to inculcate among the students the sublime elements of preserving Indian culture and value system. Students are introduced to the rich spiritual heritage which transcends the narrow limits of caste , colour , language and creed.

Admission Details
Admission to school is granted to children of army personnel subject to fulfillment of conditions laid down by CBSE. Children of army personnel coming on transfer from out stations seeking admission during the academic year will not be denied admission
- A screening test for class 1 is conducted in Febuary/March every year.
- Admission test is conducted in Feb/March every year for other classes.
- For classes II-V [English, Hindi, Maths & Evs].
- For classes VI_IX [English, Hindi, Maths, Science & Social Science].
- Test would be conducted for class XI in case students school is a private school
- Stream allocation of class XI would be a per AWES new rules and regulation.
The following are to be submitted during the admission time:
- The transfer certificate of the last school attended.
- Photocopy of the progress report of the previous school.
- Parents transfer order for class X & XII students.
- Registration card in case of addmission in class X to XII.
May Further Prioritise Children at Article 193 (a) as follows:
- Army School, APS Transfer cases and private recognized schools.
- KV Transfer Cases.
- Transfer cases from local schools.
- In stations where there are two schools e.g. Delhi, Pune, Lucknow, Secunderabad, a comprehensive policy will be drawn by respective Command HQ so that the load is evenly distributed. It should be based on proximity of the school from residence and availability of seats.
Note : Children under Article 193 (e), (f) & (g) will be considered civil Children for the purpose of admission. Admission forms will only be issued to PRIORITY 1 cases i.e. Army personnel posted at Pune station/Camp. Area and posted to Field area and who have applied for SF/allotted SF in Pune station. Offs whose study leave has been sanctioned and attached with stn Cell Pune will also be issued the admission forms on the production of movement order/sanction letter. Retired Personnel settling first time in Pune will be given forms provided proof of resident & discharge order is produced.
Percentages of Civilian Children :
- The strength of civilian children will normally be at the ceiling of 20% subject to availability of seats. Exceptions can be made under the following circumstances:
- Classes XI & XII In case seats are under utilized and for reasons of functional viability, Chairman may approve civilian percentage beyond 20% in classes XI and XII. This increase will be up to a maximum of 30%. Any increase beyond 30% will be with approval of Command HQ. This increase can be reviewed and withdrawn at a later stage, if situation so warrants.
- Classes IX to X Increase in percentage of civilian children up to 30% is permissible with the prior approval of Command HQ. This increase should be reviewed yearly and withdrawn, if situation so warrants.
- Other Classes There will be no increase in percentage of civilian children.
- In stations where adequate number of Army children is not available and it is considered necessary to admit higher percentage of civil children even in primary classes to ensure optimum utilization of school capacity, the overall strength of civil children may be increased to 30% with the prior approval of Command HQ. This increase can be reviewed and withdrawn at a later stage if situation so warrants.
Children of Foreign Nationals /NRls in Army Schools /APSs Foreign/NRI children are allowed to be admitted in all Army Schools/ APSs.
Admission Procedures and Admission Test
NOTE: Following category of children will be admitted based on Transfer Certificate (TC) from previous school.
- Children who are coming on Pass/promoted TC from another APS/Army School can be admitted throughout the year
- Children who have studied for 10 academic months in another APS/Army School, KV and are seeking admission after 31 Jul. An evaluation test may be taken in respect of these children to facilitate further academic coaching and allocation of sections. However such an evaluation test will not be treated as admission test and child entitled lateral admission will be allowed to attend classes within 48 hours of reporting to the school.
- No Admission test will be conducted for the students who are coming from Army Schools/Army Public Schools.
- Tests will be considered for the students coming to class X or XII irrespective of the school.
Admission Test
- All other categories of children including Army children not covered under lateral admission category may be admitted after an admission test. The Principal will arrange admission tests in the subjects as specified in Article 202 and decide whether the student can be admitted and if so, to which class. On this point, his/her decision shall be final. The standard of the admission test will be of the level of the annual examination of the class preceding to which admission is sought.
- However, in no case any child of a serving Army personnel or widow will be denied admission. The child will be accepted in a suitable class at the discretion of the Principal.
- Army children who are to be admitted based on the admission test as stated in Article 199 (a) will be allowed to attend the class based on their Transfer Certificate from the previous school. However their classes for admission would be decided by the Principal within 10 days of their reporting to the school.
- Admission Tests will be held on the first working day of every week and results will be announced within 48 hours.
A retest, where considered necessary, may be given after seven days of the first admission test.
TC from Other Schools.The District Education Officer of the District in which the school is located shall endorse TC in respect of candidates coming from schools other than APS/Army Schools/KVs. The endorsement should clearly indicate whether it is a recognized school.
Admission to Class XI.The minimum percentages for different streams for admission to class XI are given below.
Meeting the eligibility criteria on account of minimum percentages does not, however, guarantee admission.
Admission will depend on relative merit and availability of seats. No special weightage will be given for any stream to any student.
