Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has rescheduled the examination of class 12 general stream, vocational course and Sanskrit medium examination. The examinations that were scheduled for March 28 (on Tuesday) have been rescheduled to March 29 (Wednesday). The decision has been taken keeping in mind declaration of public holiday on March 28 owing to Cheti Chand, a festival for Sindhi community. Class 12 examination for general stream starts from March 15 and vocational course from March 21.
Meanwhile, CBSE exams which are to commence from March 9 have already started with their pre-examination counselling. It started from February 9 and will continue till April 29 on the toll-free number 1800 118004. CBSE has also provided the option of online counselling for students. While on the other hand GSHSEB is yet to start its helpline number for students under examination stress. RI Patel, secretary of GSEB said, “We will be starting with the helpline for state board students this week. The list of exam centres across the state is in process and will be prepared in a span of next 10 days.“
The state board exams for class 10 and 12 will commence from March 15. SSC exams will end on March 25 while HSC (general stream) will end on March 30. While HSC Semester 4 (Science) exams will conclude on March 27. A total of 11 lakhs students in SSC, 5.5 lakh students in HSC (General stream) and 1.41 lakh students in HSC (Science stream) are set to appear for the state board exams.
Navneet Mehta, DEO (City) said, “We will soon be submitting action plan to the collector for approval. There are more approximately 220 ex am centres in Ahmedabad which are all equipped with CCTV cameras to keep an eye on students and invigilators in the examination hall.“
